Bedarra Water Transfers operates a purpose-designed 7-metre power catamaran, built specifically for island transfers in tropical waters. The vessel can accommodate up to 7 passengers and 750kg of freight, making it ideal for transporting guests along with their luggage and supplies.

The catamaran features front and rear loading stairs for easy access. On arrival at Bedarra Island, the vessel drives straight onto the beach and lowers the front stairs, allowing guests to step directly onto the sand. You’ll be greeted by island caretakers who will assist with your luggage and supplies and escort you to your accommodation.

Getting to Mission Beach

Mission Beach is located on the Cassowary Coast, approximately 140km south of Cairns and 240km north of Townsville.

By Car: From Cairns, take the Bruce Highway south and turn off at the Mission Beach Road exit near Tully. The drive takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. From Townsville, head north on the Bruce Highway for approximately 2.5 to 3 hours.

By Air: The nearest major airport is Cairns (CNS). Car hire is available at the airport for the scenic drive to Mission Beach. Alternatively, helicopter transfers direct to Bedarra Island can be arranged from Cairns (approximately 45 minutes).
