Dunk Island Snorkelling Tours from Mission Beach

Wildside Adventures: Dunk Island Snorkelling Tours

Wildside Adventures is a family-owned adventure tourism operator based in Mission Beach, Far North Queensland. They run small-group snorkelling tours to Dunk Island and the Great Barrier Reef, white water rafting on the Tully River, and outdoor programs at their Echo Creek Adventure Centre.

For Dunk Island, Wildside Adventures is the island’s preferred inner reef partner. Their snorkelling tours depart from Mission Beach and reach Dunk Island in approximately 20 minutes by boat — no bus transfers, no two-hour drives from Cairns, and no large group vessels.

About Wildside Adventures

Wildside Adventures is operated by WiLD SiDE Adventures Pty Ltd. The business was founded by Allan Thomas, who first rafted the Tully River in 1989 under the guidance of John “Johnny Mac” Mcrossin. After years operating tours across New South Wales and Far North Queensland, Allan re-established Wildside Adventures in Mission Beach in 2014.

The company operates across three environments — rapids (Tully River), reef (Dunk Island and the Great Barrier Reef), and rainforest (Echo Creek Adventure Centre). All three sit within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area or the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Wildside Adventures holds Best of Queensland Experiences 2025 recognition from Tourism and Events Queensland and is Sustainable Tourism certified.
