Every October, the coastal town of Cardwell comes alive for the Cardwell Seafest – a two-day celebration of seaside living, fresh seafood, and good old-fashioned fun. This free, family-friendly festival brings together locals and visitors from across North Queensland to enjoy live entertainment, kids’ activities, markets, competitions, and fireworks right on the beachfront.
What’s On at Cardwell Seafest
Saturday – Classic Cars, Fireworks & Food
- Car Show on the Foreshore featuring local classics and muscle cars
- Food vans and a licensed bar serving tropical favourites
- Live music into the evening
- Fireworks display lighting up the Coral Sea
Sunday – Market Day & Family Activities
- Markets and family fun day with local produce and handmade crafts
- Pie-eating and prawn-peeling competitions
- “Chuck-a-Mullet” and crab races
- Hula-hooping, egg-and-spoon and sack races
- Pirates and mermaids fancy-dress parade featuring Captain Jack Sparrow and Ariel the Mermaid
